I started racing triathlon in 2010 after realizing I had been way too lazy for too many years and I couldn't continue down that path. I was never athletic as a child, so I was starting this athletic journey completely from scratch. Over the next few years I fell in love with the sport and the community surrounding it. Triathletes are some of the most genuine and inspiring people I have ever met.
In 2013 I did my first Ironman at Lake Tahoe. My result was not at all what I had hoped for and I realized I needed a coach. After hiring a coach to take me through the next season, I started hitting massive PRs in all distances from 5ks to full Ironman. I went from a middle of the pack guy to a top age grouper through consistent, quality training and solid guidance.
Triathlon has become more than just a way to keep in shape for me. It has become a lifestyle. Over the years I have amassed quite a breadth and depth of knowledge about the sport and am eager and excited to share everything I have learned with anyone who cares to listen. Through coaching I am able to share this mass of knowledge and experience with others in a way that helps them achieve their goals. I like nothing more than seeing someone I coach achieve their goals. It feels even better than my own athletic successes!
I work full time as a Systems Engineer, so I am fully cognizant of the time restrictions that work, family, friends and everything else that comes up in a busy life can place on training. As someone who always has to work around those challenges myself I can help athletes navigate them and still achieve consistent training and quality race results.
