Chicken Gyros & Tzatziki Sauce Recipe

Greek cuisine can be healthy and very easy to prepare. We love this recipe because it uses simple ingredients and it's delicious. If you are looking to prepare this meal in less time, we recommend grabbing a pre-made Tzatziki sauce from the store. Otherwise, follow the instructions to make your own healthy Tzatziki sauce.


- 4 chicken breasts, pounded to ½ inch thickness
- 1 red pepper, thinly sliced
- ½ red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 pitas (Greek-style flatbread)
- lettuce
- feta cheese

Tzatziki Sauce:
- ½ English cucumber, peeled and diced
- 2 cups cold plain Greek yogurt
- 4 teaspoons minced garlic
- chopped dill (to taste)
- juice from ½ medium lemon
- salt and pepper to taste


1. Puree all Tzatziki sauce ingredients in a blender or food processor. Skip this step if you are using store bought sauce. Cover and chill until you are ready to serve.

2. Season chicken breasts with Mediterranean seasoning. Cook in a large skillet or pan over medium heat, 5-6 minutes on each side until cooked. Cut into strips.

3. Lay pitas on a clean surface. Add lettuce, chicken, red pepper strips, and onions. Top with tzatziki sauce and feta.
